Schumacher Homes Environmental Awards
At Schumacher Homes, energy efficiency is important to us. We don’t go into any
of our home building efforts looking to win environmental awards, but we sure are
proud when we earn them. That is why at Schumacher Homes we can’t help but beam
at our ENERGY STAR Leadership in Housing Award, presented to Schumacher Homes by
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2010.
Schumacher Homes - Commitment to Energy Efficiency
Schumacher Homes earned this particular award by building more than 140 ENERGY STAR
qualified homes over the course of a year. ENERGY STAR homes are those that meet
the EPAs strict standards for energy efficiency. We at Schumacher Homes are committed
to energy efficiency and the environment, and to protecting our world’s natural
resources, which is why we plan to continue to build energy efficient homes as often
as possible, regardless of how many environmental awards we may win.
The Benefits of Energy Efficient Homes
We expect that when you hear what having an ENERGY STAR home entails, you’ll want
your custom home to be one too. One of the first things you’ll notice about ENERGY
STAR homes is the great value gained by you, as a homeowner. With the amount of
energy waste that is cut out, you can save hundreds of dollars on your utility bills
every year, and you probably won’t miss one drop of that extra energy. In addition,
you’ll probably find your energy efficient home more pleasant to live in, with better
indoor air quality and reduced noise pollution.
Energy Efficiency and the Community
What we find more rewarding than any environmental awards when it comes to building
custom homes is the knowledge that we’re doing our part to protect the environment
in each community where we build a home. Don’t be surprised if your custom built
energy efficient home gives you the same sense of satisfaction as you add your home
to a new community. Being the new home in the neighborhood can take some getting
used to; knowing you’re contributing something to that neighborhood in the way of
energy efficiency can make that transition a lot smoother.
Of course, our number one priority is building the home that you want to live in,
so whatever your new home priorities are, come down to the Schumacher Homes Design
Center in your area and let us show you all the ideas we have in store for you and
your new custom built home.
